If you haven’t been paying attention to hip hop lately, Joe Budden, Royce Da 5’9, Joell Ortiz, and Crooked I have been talking about doing a project together, and forming a group. This all started with the collab they put together for Joe Budden’s latest release “The Halfway House“, titled “Slaughterhouse“. There’s videos on Joe Budden TV of them in various studios, working with different producers, so it is clear that this project is definitely going down. The song was titled as the group name Slaughterhouse, but I don’t think that is the final name. I’m waiting to hear some more concept songs, with some choruses from these guys, the full cd should be interesting to hear. So far I’m definitely feeling the tracks they put together, every emcee is bringing it.

The mail just arrived, and I got my limited edition hardcopy of “The Halfway House”, and the autographed cd cover that we were promised came separately about a week later. This cd is only being released digitally, and can be purchased on www.amalgamdigital.com for only $8.99. Like any other cd it leaked, and if you can find it, it’s worth a listen, but I will not be posting it here for download. If you’re a loyal Joe Budden fan, or if you hear it and like it, show your support by purchasing it through the website, or on Itunes. I haven’t got a chance to let the whole cd sink in yet, but so far from what I’ve heard there’s definitely some music in there that makes me proud to be a Joe Budden fan. If you purchase it on the website it comes with 2 bonus tracks. With the packaged I received, it was also confirmed that the rumors were true and Joe Budden & The Game have infact recorded a song together, which will be the single for “Padded Room” due out Feb. 24th, 2009, and the song is called “The Future”. Well I’m gonna get back to listening to the cd, CHEAH!!!!!!!!!!
The bidding ended for the hardcopy of The Halfway House that was on ebay, and it went for $80.52 including shipping!!!!
Joe Budden was recently interviewed for www.rockmetv.com for “The Round Table”, and did a quick freestyle spitting some lyrics that I would guess we will hear on a song on The Halfway House, which is now less then 2 weeks away from coming out.
Joe Budden announced this song last week, and has had everyone in anticipation since. It features Joell Ortiz, Crooked I, Nino Bless, and Royce Da 5’9, who was recently sending jabs at Budden on wax, but it appears they have patched it up. It was supposed to air tonight on DJ Green Lantern’s Sirius radio show, but he was out of town longer then expected, so instead Joe Budden decided to leak it himself for download on www.joebuddenonline.com. It was about 6 hours late, the site crashed, cause too many people were trying to get the song, and then to every ones surprise, it actually came out before the night was over, around 11pm (Pacific Time). This song is gonna be on The Halfway House album, which is due to come out on October 28th, 2008, and will be for sale as a digital release on www.amalgamdigital.com. Be sure to pick it up to show your support.

For those that don’t know yet, Joe Budden’s album “Padded Room” was pushed back to February 09 by his label. There’s rumors going around that Joe Budden and The Game, have recently collabed for a track that is going to be the lead single for “Padded Room”, so they pushed it back to give them more time to promote the album on a bigger scale. This rumor seems very likely, due to the fact Budden and Game recently ended their beef on stage when Game reached out to him to come perform (See It Here). They can also be seen HERE together chillin, and Game rocking Budden’s labels t-shirt. I’m a fan of both of these guys, so if it turns out to be true, it should be interesting to hear. I was disappointed when the album got pushed back, cause it happens often with any Joe Budden release, but at least this time around it wasn’t a total loss. “The Halfway House” is going to be a digital release only, and you can purchase it from www.amalgamdigital.com on October 28th, which is the day Padded Room was originally set to come out. Luckily for the people that pre-ordered “Padded Room” before it got pushed back, were given an option of changing your order to getting a limited edition hard copy of “The Halfway House”, so I can’t wait to get my copy of that, along with the shirt I ordered.
Don’t forget to check out Joe Budden TV on youtube. There’s a lot of funny shit on there, and you get to take a look at the random daily events that happen in his life.
Joe Budden and Charles Hamilton appeared on Green Lantern’s Siruis Radio Show to discuss how the internet has changed Hip Hop. They also had a nice little freestyle session, and for those that don’t know, “freestyle” doesn’t always mean off the head freestyle. Surprisingly Charmles Hamilton was going off the head, and wasn’t too bad, never really heard of him before. Budden ripped it of course, with his industry “freestyles”. It’s definitely not uncommon for artists to spit writtens, and I’m surprised there’s still people that don’t know the difference, so I just wanted to clarify that. I’d rather hear some good writtens then sub-par freestyles, and most people can’t really freestyle well enough to keep you interested for too long.
DJ Vlad interviewed Joe Budden recently, and it was released in 6 parts on DJ Vlad’s YouTube Channel. Budden speaks on ending the beef with Game, past relationship with Gloria Velez, being dropped from Def Jam, names 6 women he’d smash, talks about Yung Berg, Lil Wayne, and spits a few bars on the 6th part of this interview series.
You can now pre-order “Padded Room”, Joe Budden’s long awaited, and highly anticipated, 2nd album. You will receive the cd by the official release date, which is February 24th, 2009. The album was pushed back from its original release date, and he released “The Halfway House” to hold the fans over till Padded Room comes out. The reason for the push back was he had the opportunity to record a new single ft. The Game, and the song is titled “The Future”. As far as pre-ordering goes you have 2 options, $12 (+ shipping) for just the cd, or $20 (+ shipping) for an autographed copy of the album + the official Padded Room t-shirt. I’m not sure if the album cover is staying the same, and I’m also not sure what t-shirt they will be sending out. Paying for either option is easy using paypal, and as I expect with any Joe Budden project, will be well worth the money. We’ve all downloaded more then enough free songs/mixtapes from him over the last few years, so if you’re a fan of Joe’s, or a fan of some real hip hop, support one of the realest emcees in the game. I know I’ll be waiting for my autographed copy, and t-shirt when the release date comes around.
Joe Budden is having a Live Studio Webcast, on August 21st, at 4:00pm (Eastern Time). It is said that you will get to watch him put the finishing touches on his new album “Padded Room”, live while he’s in the studio. There will also be a chatroom going, and you can try to ask some questions if they have a Q and A session. All you have to do is go to www.amalgamdigital.com/TV at that specific time, and watch the live stream.
*UPDATE* If you missed the live webcast, you can now see the recording in full at
