Grind Time Now Presents: BATTLE OF LA 3

For those of you that haven’t heard of Grind Time, or didn’t see our previous post on them, it’s The World’s #1 Rap Battle League started by emcee’s for emcee’s. I’ve been a huge fan of Grind Time, and a lot of the rappers involved for as long as I’ve known about the league, and certain battlers based on performances prior to the league’s formation. When I first heard about Battle Of LA 3, I knew I had to be there, and I waited impatiently for a few months till that day finally came. The event, better known as “BOLA 3” was held on New Years Eve at The Airliner, in Los Angeles, and I couldn’t think of a better way for me to have brought in 2010 than being at this event. It was my first time at a Grind Time event, and it was easily one of the funnest nights of my life, a jam packed night of entertainment from start to finish! Grind Time has single-handedly taken the battle scene to new heights, and I look forward to another big year from them. Much love to @LushOne, and everyone else involved in making this event happen! I hope they hold more events in Los Angeles, cause I will definitely be there every time!

R.I.P. Brandon “Point Game” Burris

One of the most humble, nicest, genuine people you could ever come across recently passed away on Jan 23rd, 2010. He was also a rapper, a very talented one at that, and he was as passionate about making music as a person could be. His name is Brandon “Point Game” Burris.

Although a lot of people that knew him online, never met him in person, he still was able to touch a lot of our lives. He was known to give advice, and encouraging words to rappers trying to perfect their craft, and collabing with almost anyone interested in being on a song with him, no matter how much better of an artist he was than them. In his music he shared his deepest, and most personal thoughts, that helped you get an idea of who he was, and what he was going through in life, which is why a lot of us felt like we knew him.

I took the time to look through a bunch of old burned cd’s, and other files that I haven’t accessed in years, and was extremely happy when I came across a bunch of his old music, and the freestyle video I posted above. I uploaded the video, and as much music as I had of his to share with everyone that may never got a chance to hear some of it. This includes albums I purchased from him dating back to 2003 that I ripped to my computer, and uploaded. You can definitely say I’ve been a long time fan of Point Game, and this news was shocking, and sad to hear.

He will live on through his music.

I uploaded everything I had of his that I could find, but his catalogue goes even deeper than this, from various collab tracks, battle tracks, remixes, and songs I just don’t have of his.
