Joe Budden and Charles Hamilton appeared on Green Lantern’s Siruis Radio Show to discuss how the internet has changed Hip Hop. They also had a nice little freestyle session, and for those that don’t know, “freestyle” doesn’t always mean off the head freestyle. Surprisingly Charmles Hamilton was going off the head, and wasn’t too bad, never really heard of him before. Budden ripped it of course, with his industry “freestyles”. It’s definitely not uncommon for artists to spit writtens, and I’m surprised there’s still people that don’t know the difference, so I just wanted to clarify that. I’d rather hear some good writtens then sub-par freestyles, and most people can’t really freestyle well enough to keep you interested for too long.
I am proud to announce, I have officially endorsed Murs For President, the President of Hip-Hop that is, by pre-ordering his album. I pre-ordered the cd/dvd combo for only $12.99 a couple weeks ago, along with a t-shirt, off his website Mursmusic.com. Less then a week away till the album comes out, and I’m definitely anxious to hear it from beginning to end. This is his first major release, so if you’re a fan, support this man! The promotional campaign for the album has been pretty impressive, and very creative. You too can Vote Murs For President by buying his album coming out September 30th!!!!!
DJ Vlad interviewed Joe Budden recently, and it was released in 6 parts on DJ Vlad’s YouTube Channel. Budden speaks on ending the beef with Game, past relationship with Gloria Velez, being dropped from Def Jam, names 6 women he’d smash, talks about Yung Berg, Lil Wayne, and spits a few bars on the 6th part of this interview series.
Kanye West performed his new single “Love Lockdown” at the MTV VMA’s recently, and the song is definitely getting mixed reactions. I really enjoyed this performance cause he put a lot of emotion into it, and I like the song, and can relate to the lyrics. A lot of people are getting sick of the use of autotune, if you don’t know, thats the program that creates the effect that T-Pain uses. I don’t mind the autotune use, as long as it’s not overdone on the song, it can still sound good, and to me, this song sounds good. It’s been stuck in my head for at least 3 days straight. There’s only one problem, the live version is a lot better then the supposed “studio” version that was apparently sent out by def jam, and also posted by Kanye himself on his blog. I’m not even gonna post that one, cause it will most likely cause you to not like this song automatically. I doubt that release is the final version, and I really hope it’s not, cause I really like the song, and wanna hear it at it’s full potential. His new album “808’s and Heartbreak” is set to release on December 16th. It should be a solid album, so far he’s 3 for 3, and continues to put out some great music, so I’m expecting the same from this cd.
